Time to Change for Better Convenience!

  • Dear Aydein,

It's been a while since I wrote anything about you. It must be frustrating to have all the attention shifted from you after the arrival of your little sister, huh? Well, let's talk about you for a change today. How do you like that? :)

Remember when we were walking at the park the other day and you asked me how you were like when you were little? I must say, you were (and still are!) a very active kid! You used to move around so much, it makes even nappy changing so difficult! At that time, I wished someone had invented a diaper so easy to wear, it would make nappy changing less of a 'war'!

Well guess what! While I was doing some baby shopping the other day, I came across this... (press Next!)

  • Yeap, a life-saving diaper! It may look like the everyday diaper you wear, but this one is different! My dear, this diaper (it's actually called Huggies Dry Pants) is clinically proven to help prevent diaper rash and dermatitis with its 100% breathable cover, double leak barriers and the trusted leakage protection of the quick lock system!

  • The best thing is, it is designed like pants, so it makes changing easier as all one needs to do, is just "pull them up, tear and go!" Sounds fun, huh? ;)

Lucky for you, you had the chance to get your bumbum on it! Remember that day when you asked me why our nappy changing sessions lately seemed to be more fun & speedy? Well, that's because you had Huggies Dry Pants on you for quite some time now! ;)
  • Just so you know, this diaper is now my new favorite! You wanna know why? Let me tell you.

1 Now, instead of forcing you to lay down to put the nappy on you, I can now quickly slip the pants on you without disturbing your playtime!

  • 2 Now, instead of unfastening the conventional nappy tape to take it off you, I can just tear the side seam of the Huggies Dry Pants to (quickly) change you!

  • 3 Most importantly, now, I hear no more "ouches!" from you as there is no more annoying fastening tape that accidentally sticks to your thigh when I change you!

  • There's more! Did you know that Huggies is giving out free samples to interested mommies and daddies for their children to try out now? How nice of the Huggies team, kan boy? :) All the mommies (and daddies!) need to do is just request for a sample at http://www.huggies.com.my/huggies-community/request-a-sample.aspx to get one! Just like that. :) For more info, they can also checkout Huggies's official Facebook page at www.facebook.com/Huggies.Malaysia :)

Sighs, I wish I had been introduced to this nappy earlier! I know now why they say, Huggies Dry Pants: Change for Better Convenience; it really does make my life (and yours!) so much more convenient! :)) No more struggling, no more 'war' during nappy changing. Just "Koyak, Salin & Lepas!" ;)

You see, I wanted to get some baby wipes for my baby at the hospital's pharmacy after I got discharged. While waiting for my husband to pay, a friendly pharmacist approached me and handed me a flyer that caught my attention.

Curious, I read further. And that's when I found out that Huggies is having a roadshow happening at Mydin USJ from 25 February 2013 to 3 March 2013! Here are the details:

7 Things To Wrap Up 2012!

I know, I know. I've been neglecting this blog, yet again. Sorry guys! 2012 has been an eventful year for me, it made me wonder how I could have left so many things happened unrecorded in this blog! So here's my 2012 in a glance..

1. I Left Nuffnang Malaysia in June 2012

I don't know why, but I still get people calling and asking me about Nuffnang this and Nuffnang that, thinking that I am still with Nuffnang! One time, this blogger even called me and asking me if I would be at an event, 4 months after I left Nuffnang! *bangs head on table* Korang sayang sangat dekat mak eh! ;p So just for the record, I am no longer a Nuffie but Nuffnang will always hold a special place in my heart! As I like to say it, once a Nuffie, always a Nuffie! ;)

2. I Re-joined Exabytes Malaysia

That's right, I am now part of the Exabees again and very much happy with it! If you've been following me since before, you'd know that I used to be part of the team back in 2008. In 2010, I left them for Nuffnang, and here I am again joining Exabytes as the person responsible to manage all their social media channels :)  It will be my 3rd month with Exabytes this month, and hopefully many more months to come!

3. Aydein Is Potty-Trained at 3!

Yes, Aydein is now diaper-free -- well, during the daytime at least! :D There have been a few episodes of "accidents", of course (even now!) but he can now tell us when he's "going" and we'll assist him to the toilet! The funny thing is, he's so used to doing his big business standing that he'll even stand on the toilet bowl whenever he needs to go big! It's pretty worrying, so we've never left him unattended whenever he needs to do his business, big or small. Nevertheless, I'm proud of his big achievement! ;)

4. Aydein Is Now Bottle-Free

The little soldier also just made the bottle-to-cup transition recently -- at the age of 3 1/2 years old! :P It's a little late, but hey, everything's gotta start somewhere right? ;) One thing I noticed as soon as we bottle-wean him though; he doesn't drink as much milk in the cup as he did in the bottle before -- which is fine to us, because we want him to get more nutrition from adult food and drink less of milk like he did before. So that's a yeay to us; about time that we spend less on his milk eh! Save sikit duit papa, nak. ;p

5. Aydein Is Going To School

Everytime I think of this day (the day Aydein will start school), I get all emotional inside. Sigh, my baby's all grown up. In less than a week, the New Year will embrace us, and it will be the start of the new chapter in Aydein's life -- attending a school! His bag is ready, his water bottle is set, and soon, he will be putting on his uniform and begin his journey as a pre-schooler! Words cant describe the way I feel about it now; happy, sad, worried, proud. Oh well, I guess it's a feeling that all first-time moms get. ;(

6. I Am A Proud Owner of an Online Business

I've always wanted to run my own business. I mentioned this in one of my 2010 resolutions and alhamdulillah, together with my elder sister, Pretty Folds is born just a few months back. To be honest, it's really a fun thing to do and business was doing well for Pretty Folds, but the thing I learnt in business is that -- one truly needs to be commited in it in order to be successful! And at this moment, commitment is something that I don't actually have, hence the slowness in stock update lately hehehe.

7. I Am Pregnant -- Again!

Well, some of you may have already found out about this via my social media networks.. but for those of you who didn't know... I AM VERY PREGNANT! I'm going to be 8 months next week to be exact, so you can imagine how HUGE I am now! :P The best thing is it's going to be a GIRL insyaallah this time, so you can imagine how excited I am! I'm already thinking.. headbands, tutu, pretty floral tops, pink, lavendar, polkadots.. WHEEEEE! ;P I'm going to write about this second pregnancy journey again in a different post, so lookout for it soon! :D

So here's my post to wrap up year 2012.. and I look forward to the wonderful things 2013 holds for me!

Marvel’s The Avengers

One 'supernatural power' show that I never failed to catch (besides Power Rangers & Ultraman) when I was a kid has got to be.. Charmed!

I love how the 4 witch-sisters fight the demons off with their superpowers and despite the butt kicking, face punching and neck crunching, ironically, not even a hair out of place! Most importantly, no need for those fugly underwear-on-the-outside costume nonsense; these chicks can kick-ass in spaghetti strap and jeans! Now that's what I call kicking-ass-in-style! :D

And then, when I grew slightly older I was introduced to Marvel superheroes and I've followed (although not very closely) all their series since! Comic superheroes like "Iron Man", "The Incredible Hulk", "Thor" and "Captain America" started to grow more and more on me. So much so, I began to wish that I could be one of the 'superheroes' and join their Avengers Team to help save the world!

But then again.. which superhero would I be and what would be the powers I would like to have with me if I were one of them? Hmm.

Oh wait, I know! I could be the OHSEMWOMAN and I could save the world with my "ohsem" superpowers that are the combination of the Charmed sisters powers ; freezing people/objects, having premonition and telekinetic powers

With powers such as those, I would leave no room for crime because naturally, I would get the early premonition if something bad's going to happen, zoom to the place, freeze the bad-ass, and with my ohsem telekinetic powers, shove them away and beat them up to death! Tsk tsk. Too easy because #imohsemthatway. *brushes dust off shoulder* :P

OHSEMWOMAN SAVES THE DAY!

Mama, I Had Fun at Friso GUT Event!

Hello hello everyone! It’s been a loooooooong time since I last scribbled something here so here’s me doing the story telling again! Eh wait wait, for those of you who misses me (or *sobs sobs* forgot how I look like), this one is for you!

HEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Aaaanyways, remember Mama was telling you guys about the Friso Growing Up Together event that we family were excited to go? Well guess what! We went and we had HEAPS of fun! XD

The first thing I saw as soon as we reached the place was this huge arch! Look how pretty they decorated the place!

Cantik kan! :) The moment we reached there, we were asked to register at the registration counter. Mama did the registering while I look around to see what they have in store for us kids!

They have a few activities ready for us on that day, actually. Exploring the interactive tunnel, creating a glove toy and making visual painting are just some of it!

Kids my age were everywhere, running and shouting – boy they sure looked happy! I couldn’t wait to join in the fun so I pulled my mama's hand and get her to queue up. I was getting excited too!

That's my cousin, Muqeet. We're best buddies and we do eeeeeverything together! I didn't want him to miss the fun event so I asked him to come along! :D The first activity that I tried out on that day was the Interactive Tunnel!

Everybody, this is the Lilypad Hop! I had fun hopping and jumping from one leaf to another, just like a froggy! I tried touching the fishes in the pond too, but they were quick to duck and escape my little fingers! :( Next time, fishy, next time!

The next game I tried on that day was the Fly, Butterfly, Fly game. I was supposed to touch as many flying butterflies as I could and whaddayaknow! I touched 55 butterflies altogether! WHEEEEEEEE! *claps claps*

After we went out from the Interactive Tunnel, we stopped by the Virtual Painting booth. I love this one the most because I got to doodle and scribble on the big white screen.. with mama! :D

Do you like the little aliens and background in the picture? I chose them myself tau! :D After we’re done with the painting, the friendly Friso assistant helped to print the picture out in a nice frame and gave it to me to keep! :D Thanks bro, you were great! *highfive*

After that we went to the art and craft booth. I could see some of my friends there making some glove muppets. Look how cute they are!

I wanted to try to make one of those oh so badly too but the waiting list was too long! :( Mama said we’d try to make one ourselves at home together instead, so I'm holding on to your promise mama, don’t cheat cheat okay! *pinky swear*

Needless to say, it was a great and fun day out with my little family. Thanks Nuffnang and Friso for throwing a fun day out such as this, look forward for more events like this in the future!

For those of you who missed the exciting event, don't worry! Be sure to drop by the one in Aeon Bukit Indah, Johor Bahru (Mar 2012 – 18 Mar 2012) and another one in Queensbay Mall, Penang (05 Apr 2012 – 08 Apr 2012)! ;)

Love love,
Aydein.

Let's Grow Up With Our Children Together!

When I was a school girl, I remember missing on some of the fun things in life just because my parents (mom, especially) were (very) protective of me. I couldn’t join the Girl Guides team go hiking, I wasn’t allowed to follow my friends go camping, I wasn’t even allowed to do sleepovers just cause my parents were worried if the family host won’t feed me enough. T_T (I know right!)

I guess I should be thankful for having such caring parents who (I know) did all that just out of my best interest, but as I grew older, I felt left out. When my college friends started talking about the adventures they went through as a child, all I could do was listen. And that really didn’t do much of a help because hey, growing up, dah tentu lah you nak share dengan your friends jugak that you were ALL that kan. :P

That is why, when I had Aydein, I made a promise never to repeat the same thing to my only son. I want to expose him to nature, I want him to explore the world. For that, I made sure that he experiences the many fun things in life and that includes…

Going on funfair rides;

Swimming in the salty sea water;

Making ‘masterpieces’ through painting;

Having a good time on a boat ride;

Even going barefoot on the grass sometimes!

I was not afraid of letting my son to get dirty or make a mess of anything because I believe everything he does is part of his learning experience. :) TAPI dah tentu lah ada time-time nya kan. Kalau dah make a mess masa mama tengah crazy tired, dah tentu lah nak kena babab je kan :P So activities that involve getting messy and dirty are limited to weekends only ye! :P

Speaking of which, my husband and I were thinking of a place to bring Aydein for the weekend when we heard about this program that got us both excited! Remember I used to blog about my day out with Friso last time? You know, the one yang I *ahem* keluar paper tu? :P

Well guess what?! Friso is back again and they're throwing another event called Friso Growing Up Together (GUT) soon! :D :D

So what is Friso Growing Up Together (GUT) is all about? Simple. It's a concept that Friso brings to light the journey of motherhood and the joy of growing up together with your children by encouraging them to explore because experience is children’s best teacher. The concept believes that all parents should be more involved with their kids’ growth in a holistic way – not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well and that includes giving them the right nutrition!

On that day, parents and children can team up to explore new and exciting things together as there will be activities that require participation from both! Some of the exciting activities are ;

1.    Interactive Tunnel – Parents are supposed to team up with their little ones to play the interactive games projected to the walls and floor of the tunnel.

2.    Craft Stations - Parents and children are able to get their hands dirty at the craft stations where they can customize their very own T-shirts, badges and hanging mobiles or create their own toys whilst having fun together.

3.    Free Gifts – Bring the tin foil or barcode from one of Friso Gold 3 or Friso Gold 4 pack to redeem a little gift for your little one.

SEEEEEEEEEEE? I have a feeling that it's going to be a fun, FUN day! :D :D

I am sure there will be activities that will require your children to get dirty too, but don't worry! As long as your kids have the right nutrition, there is no need to worry about your kids exploring and getting dirty because your kids will have all the essential defense system to help them fight off any naughty bugs! ;)

Now how do we get the right nutrition for our children you ask? :D Introducing Friso® Gold to the rescueeee! It helps increase the good bacteria count so that your child’s defense system receives its much needed boost.

It is specially formulated with P2 Dual System, a combination of 2 Prebiotics and 2 Probiotics which protect the children from the inside so they are free to discover the world. A study has revealed that children who received Synbiotics – a combination of Prebiotics and Probiotics – showed lower frequency of diarrhoea and allergy. Prebiotics help increase intestinal bifidobacteria and maintain good intestinal environment. Healthy live bacteria may help in reducing diarrhoea cases. It also contains DHA, AA3 and SA, which speed up information relay between brain cells, which aid a growing child’s overall development.

So there's no excuse for us parents not to let our children to explore and get dirty after this and there’s definitely no excuse for all of you not to join Friso Growing Up Together Day! :D

Ooh did I tell you that Friso GUT Days Event will be launched with a BIG BANG on an innovative platform, which is the "Talking Newspaper", done in collaboration with New Straits Times too? :D After watching this video, I feel like getting a copy NOW myself!

The good news doesn't end here! We know most events are usually held in Klang Valley area only, however for Friso Growing Up Together event, it will be held at 4 different places at the following date!

22 Feb 2012 – 26 Feb 2012 1 Utama, Klang Valley
09 Mar 2012 – 11 Mar 2012 Sunway Pyramid, Klang Valley
13 Mar 2012 – 18 Mar 2012 Aeon Bukit Indah, Johor Bahru
05 Apr 2012 – 08 Apr 2012 Queensbay Mall, Penang

I'm definitely going to be at the one in Klang Valley (probably the one in Sunway Pyramid, or both! :P), so see you there! :)

The Little NAPBAS Model

Aydein loves the camera. Point the camera at him and he would grin, tilt his body and head whenever you say "Smile!"

And looking at the photos below, I think the camera loves him too! I mean really, is this really the once-a-baby I gave birth to?

That is why when my colleagues asked if Aydein could pose for their NAPBAS category video, I immediately said.. why not!

When it was time for the shooting, he was shy seeing all the many kakaks and abangs in the office at first, but warmed up quickly thanks to a packet of M&Ms and the friendly Community Relations sweethearts!

It didn't take long for him to get comfortable with the friendly Nuffies around, and in just a couple of minutes, we were able to get the shot we wanted! :)

Here's the video of my baby boy as the model for the NAPBAS Best Parenting Blog category.  It's just a very short clip of him though, but he did so well in the video, I just can't help but to feel so proud of my baby boy! :D

P/s : All props and toys in the production of this video are his! :P

Considering of sending him to a talent agency? Definitely maybe :P

Nuffnang Christmas & New Year Dinner

Shortly after the night of glitz and glamour, all of the Nuffies from 7 different countries were treated to a fancy dinner at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

I was actually really looking forward to this dinner more than ever because instead of just seeing their names in the emails, that night would finally be the night where I could finally meet and know the people behind the emails in person! Barely 4 years ago, the Nuffies looked like this ...

Today, our family has grown to include over 100 people spread out over 7 countries ; Singapore, Phillipines, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Australia and of course, Malaysia!

Notice that most of us were clad in red & green outfits? Okay la maybe this picture doesn't really justify that, but our HR had actually specifically set a theme for us to wear on that night, and the theme was : Green, Red or anything Glittery! :D The moment I saw Green & Glittery, I immediately thought of one outfit that would be perfect for this occasion -- nothing fancy, just my baju kurung moden! :P

Here are some of the pictures taken on that night!

Here's the picture of the people behind the Community Relations team! From left : Joel, Yours Truly, Anne, Farah and Luke!

And last but not least, the girls that I do almost everything with at the office! From left : Farah, Anne, Yours Truly and Sue! <3

The ANTM-Wannabe Pose

The Gediks Pose

The Group Hug. This is love. <3

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY! :)
