Raya Heat

I know all of you are (probably) still talking about the heat of the haze, but all I can think of (and feel) right now is the Raya heat! :D I mean, how can I not? All the newsletters I get reminds me of Raya shopping!

Usually, my little family would just buy ready made kurung & baju melayu for Raya (usually because all the tailors would not take any more orders lah haha). This time however, we wanted to look our best on our first Syawal morning, so we started scouting around for materials to send for tailoring as early as this month!

Adeena also gets to get her baju custom made this year! I can't wait to see how Adeena's little kurung would turn out to be like once it's ready. Misti. Cute. Gilaaaaa. :) :) :)

For those of you who have not sent your baju for tailoring yet, you'd better send them now, now, NOW! You'd be surprised to know that some tailors have even closed orders for Raya already! Crazy-mazy right?

If you're wondering where did we send our baju for tailoring, basically, Aien and Aydein get their baju tailored at Jakel, thinking that the tailoring would be cheaper since we got the material from there. It turns out that, Aien's baju melayu costs RM220 and Aydein's baju RM180 (tailoring ONLY!). Yes, tailoring ONLY; not inclusive of material charges! Super expensive for me ok; I definitely won't recommend this place for tailoring. *Tailoring are for men's attire only.

As for me and Adeena, we got our baju tailored at Sharifah Norizan Butik, at Medan Mara.

I have had one of my baju's tailored with Kak Sharifah, and I'm happy with her workmanship. Her price's a wee bit pricey though, but I find every dollar spent quite worth it. :)

So, what will our Raya theme be this year? You'll see! ;)

Oh Brother!

Before Adeena came into this world, I was a bit worried on how Aydein would react once his little sister finally joins this Little Family. Would he be jealous? Would he feel second? What if he goes under depression?

Okay, depression may be pushing it a bit too far lah hehe, but I really was concerned of how he would feel once his little sister comes out. That's why, I got him used to the idea of the new member of the family, ever since Adeena was still in the tummy. Surprisingly, he took the idea quite well. Very well, in fact. He'd talk to the unborn baby, give salaam, even kissed my tummy every now and then!

And alhamdulillah, this continued on almost immediately after Adeena was brought into this world. :) The first thing he asked when the baby was brought into the room was, "Pa, nak pegang baby?" :)

And this continues on till this very day! He would play with Adeena, ...

Pat Adeena if she starts to cry, ...

Talk to Adeena eventhough she would only stare back at him in return,... :P

Shower Adeena with loads and loads of kisses...,

Request to hold Adeena every now and then...,

Sometimes, he would even lie beside Adeena just to watch her, while smiling tenderly at his little sister. :)

He looks so in love right? He's in love, alright; in love with his own baby sister! :)

Oh and he's also veryyyy protective of his baby sister. No one can take her away from him! One time, his Tok Ayah wanted to tease him and told him he was going to take his baby sister away while holding Adeena in his (Tok Ayah's) arms. Aydein actually leaped, stood in front of his Tok Ayah, and with arms wide open, shouted (while crying) at Tok Ayah and stopped Tok Ayah from moving an inch further! Hehe so cute!

Aydein sayang,

If you're reading this, I hope and pray that this bond between you two lasts forever. Should there be one day where mama and papa are no longer in this world to look after the both of you, be sure to be the big brother that you are, and protect your sister from any harm's way okay? :) Mama love both of you with all my heart. *feels a lump in throat*

I love you, my AA's! :')

Me Likes The Camera!

Okay I'll admit it. Sometimes, during my free time, I like to take some pictures of myself when I absolutely have nothing to do (read: bored). It's usually when I have to wait for someone or simply when I am feeling.. well, a wee bit vain at the time.

But I MUST tell you that this doesn't happen very often because, well, I am just usually very busy most of the time *ehems*. But then again, tell me, which one of you here never once took a picture of yourself (read: camwhore) in your life before -- especially if you're a girl? :P Eh jangan tipu, jangan tipu! Tu bukak Facebook profile pictures tu. Tu bukan gamba syok sendirik tu? Ha? Ha? :P

Little did I know though, that there's another person in my little family who loves the camera too! He would silently take anyone's camera phone, snap a couple of pictures of himself and then, sweetly and innocently, return it back to the owner. The next thing you know, you see this..

.. all over your phone's Gallery folder! :P

And the best thing is, he doesn't only snap (vain) pictures of himself, he also have himself recorded... in a video! *gasps*

Sighs, anakku, anakku. Kuat berangan jugak kamu ye?

Oh well, mana nak tumpahnya kuah kalau tak ke nasik, ye tak? Highfive, baby! :P

The Little NAPBAS Model

Aydein loves the camera. Point the camera at him and he would grin, tilt his body and head whenever you say "Smile!"

And looking at the photos below, I think the camera loves him too! I mean really, is this really the once-a-baby I gave birth to?

That is why when my colleagues asked if Aydein could pose for their NAPBAS category video, I immediately said.. why not!

When it was time for the shooting, he was shy seeing all the many kakaks and abangs in the office at first, but warmed up quickly thanks to a packet of M&Ms and the friendly Community Relations sweethearts!

It didn't take long for him to get comfortable with the friendly Nuffies around, and in just a couple of minutes, we were able to get the shot we wanted! :)

Here's the video of my baby boy as the model for the NAPBAS Best Parenting Blog category.  It's just a very short clip of him though, but he did so well in the video, I just can't help but to feel so proud of my baby boy! :D

P/s : All props and toys in the production of this video are his! :P

Considering of sending him to a talent agency? Definitely maybe :P

His Virgin Hair

The thing about my little family is that, we are not blessed with luscious, thick hair like some of you do. My hair is thin, Aien's hair is thinner, and little one, Aydein's.. well, let's just say he got his hair from the both of us lah.

And unlike some newborns who are born with thick, luscious hair the moment they are brought to this world, Aydein was born with very fine hair that took forever to grow!

That is why, you can imagine how crushed I felt when we had to shave his head bald for his cukur jambul & aqiqah.

It killed to see my baby's hair being shaved off like that, but since it was sunnah, I let them anyway, and promised myself that no one was ever gonna touch his hair ever again after that day!

And believe it or not, Aydein never had his hair cut anymore after that day! It grew longer and longer that when he showers, his hair would fall down to his shoulders!

However, the thing about Aydein's hair is that.. it's curly. That is why, no matter how long it grows, it doesn't show, because they only end up in adorable curls and ringlets!

However, the thing about curls and ringlets is that, over time, it kinda make you look messy. Which is the case for my boy, especially the curls at the back of his head.

I get disturbed too, looking at the messy back of his hair sometimes, but I didn't want to cut them, worrying that it'll take forever for his hair to grow again!

I've had people telling us to shave his head off regularly in order for it to get thick, so one day, after 2 years ++ of not doing anything to his hair, we decided to... cut off his hair and get that adorably messy curls gone, at least for while.

I wanted to take Aydein to a professional barber, but just like he insisted to cut Aydein's umbilical cord and shaved his son's head bald during aqiqah, Aien insisted to cut his son's virgin hair himself.

I actually cringed at each snip Aien made (sayang ok bela rambut anak sampai 2 tahun lebeh!) but surprisingly, Aydein remained calmed and smiley the whole time! Good boy, Aydein! Macam gini lah anak mama :)

And after a few snips and snaps here and there, I am proud to introduce, the all neat and handsome boy.. Ahmad Aydein!

LAIN GILA KAN RUPA! <3

Little Romeo

Have you ever caught yourself saying "awwww" and smiling to yourself when you stumbled across pictures like these?

So adorable kan! I am not sure about you, but I definitely enjoy looking at adorable baby photos and then imagining how my son's first monkey love would be like one day. :P Misti comels! :D

And then one day, as though hearing my thoughts, he decided to surprise me with something I'd never thought a boy his age is capable of doing -- flirting!

It was like looking at one of those adorable baby photos again, only this time, it's MY son as the main model! :P Uh, but just so we're clear son, I know I said it's cute imagining your monkey puppy kitty love and everything, but adorable or not, no girls allowed until you're at least.. uh, 18 okay? Good boy.

Oh, and before I go, here's a peek on how my cheeky son Aydein hit on a mat-salleh girl named Yaya. :P Watch out mamas, coz you have no idea what toddlers nowadays can do! :P
