Private or Government Hospital?

Lately, somehow I have come across a few of this debate. Usually this would not interest me, but recently, one of my sister's good friend (whom I have considered as my own sister), referred her readers to a blog containing this debate, or rather, the writer's point of view on this matter. And I must say, I was rather intrigued to what the writer had to tell and say in her entry. I applaud the writer's stand and point of view in her entry. Very well spoken and I agree 100% to everything she said in her entry.

All you ladies (and men too!) out there should read the entry, written by Chika. It's a very good entry, and it makes you realize, to always think before you speak (or type). She highlighted 2 things there and I highly recommend that you read, just to remind ourselves things that we may forget, sometimes.

Reading all the comments thrown by other readers, I cant help but to chip in my two cents on one of the issues as well. Since I gave birth to Aydein in a private hospital, this is what I had to say :

***

chika, well said. saya setuju 100% dgn apa yang chika luahkan di atas.

Make sense to you? Think about it. :)

Ps : YES i CAN write in Malay too! :D

kak riena :

yeah betol betol betol. :) syukur kak riena dpt layanan yang baik dari hosp kerajaan. mcm tiqah ckp, rezeki masing2 kan. mungkin rezeki tiqah bukan dgn hosp kerajaan. insyaallah next year nak cuba yang 2nd and nak pi balik checkup dkt klinik kerajaan tu balik. hopefully by that time, derang dah ubah cara pengendalian klinik derang and layan setiap patient dgn baik & efficient.

eh, nak yang 2nd next year ke? biar betol aku ni. :P

I pon bakal melahirkan baby dekat private hospital jugak. And honestly, I mmg prefer private hospital (based on personal reasons la kan)

Tapi tak ada siapa-siapa berhak mempertikaikan orang yang pergi government hospital just because you went to the private ones. Sbb there's always reasons to each choices. Kan?

Pergi hospital kerajaan tak bermaksud orang tu tak ada duit. Somethings, ia lebih kepada pendirian dan kefahaman individu :)

yes! i agreed with u too!
tu lah my hubby pon suggest for 2nd baby nanti try govt plak..tp i cam tkt2 plak nak pi sbb dengar macam2 citer..nak queue for checkup pon rasanye tak sanggup..
aritu pernah try pi klinik krjaan kat sepang tuk check aariz lepas bersalin..die truk kene jaundice..klinik kjaan yg paling dekat, so pi situ ulang alik je laa..nak ulang alik pi spital die kat puchong tu dalam pantang, cam tak convinient plak..so far situ cam ok..but then if i nak pi maternity checkup bulan2, pk-sepang..hmm kene pk 3 4 ribu kali jugak ni..
eh takpe..u try first, then kita tgk ur exp camne..hehe..u pi klinik kjaan mane?..klinik kjaan kat pj-damansara ni member i pi, die kater org indon bersepah2 tunggu turn skalik ngan kita nak checkup jugak..adoiii tu tak tahan tu..kene kuar pepagik bute kol 7 dari rumah..tskk

haha tu la. my husband pon tego, nape ayat i skema gila. hahaha. skema ke? hmm kene byk blaja cara penulisan melayu tak skema lagi lah lepasni :P

i dulu buat monthly checkup dkt klinik kerajaan dkt PJS 6, dkt juge dgn my house. and betol mcm u ckp, dkt situ, bukan aje indon. myanmar & org asli (seriously!) pon buat checkup dkt situ. and mmg by 7.30am i dah tercangak dkt situ. lagi lambat drp tu, confirm sampai ke tghari lah br sampai turn kita.

and the thing is, selama 6 bln i dkt situ, tak pernah skali pon misi2 dkt situ scan perot i! stakat dgr heartbeat je. die ckp, kalau nak scan, kene pi hospital mane tah. mujur kakak i doctor, so in addition, i pi jumpe kakak i, and kakak i yang tlg scan tgk perkembangan baby i every month. 7 months onwards, baru i decided to follow up dkt private pulak.

then, layanan dkt klinik tu jgn ckp lah kan. terjerit2, marah2 patients mcm kita ni budak2. then, measurement ke ape kene amik sendirik, derang langsung tak ajar/monitor pon. then kalau heartbeat baby tak dgr masa tu, siap ckp, "oh tak dgr heartbeat baby lah. takpelah. mmg sometimes position baby tu kita tak dpt dgr," pastu teros stop check mcm gitu je. tak panas ke hati mcm gitu? and mcm2 lagi lah.

haihs, ntah lah. i really hope they've changed their system to the better.

hi thara ... dah baca entry chika tadi, a gud one i think ... who r we to judge others, rezeki masing2 kann ... penah juga sya jumpa ramai yg berkemampuan tp pilih gov hosptl .. bergantung kpd kemampuan & keperluan individu juga ... dun u think?!?

Thara said...

asz :

hi kak asz! wah, harini dpt comment drp org2 yg tak disangka2 lah! :D

betol, rezeki masing2 kak. siapa kita nak sebok beritahu org laen of what to do or where to go. suke hati dia lah nak pi mana pon kan. betol, mcm kak asz ckp, bergantung pd kemampuan & kerperluan individual.

apa2 pon, dlm dunia ni, ade pros & cons dia. terpulang pd individu utk buat penilaian dan pemilihan sendirik. :) and no one has the right to say anything!

betol dear..both govern n private ada pro n cons..private mmg dpt best service..tp for small private yg tak complete equip tu yg bahaya..specially yg takde bloodbank!hosp mmg servc so-so but the equipmnet mmg bagus!
skrng pun gvnm such selayang putrajaya semua dah ok kan??

thats why Nadia try to go something at the middle..have u heard about UM specialist centre UMSC or HUKM specialist..
these place ada ward yg private..dr yg check is the specialist from govern..so they all tkde intention nak generate money..they all very sincere check..
I'm very glad sb my gynae Prof Siti Zawiah..mmg best!!great I found her..

others such SJMC .KPJ also very good..sb diorang good facilities n with bloodbank specially..

Jom try for the next when next year!.. i'm planning to do that Insya Allah..

Btw, kakak you yg doc tuh kerja mana? my brother and his wife are doctors as well.. kalau i pergi government hospitals pun, i akan pergi yg mana my brother pernah pergi, which most probably Hospital Sg Buloh sbb his friends are there.. or UM sbb he works there :)

Thara said...

nadia :
i tak tahu menahu psl which govt hosp yg bagus, bcoz tak penah survey. but ive heard from my preggy friend that putrajaya is good bcoz its new, tapi ade slack in smthn which i forgot what.

ooh ive nvr heard abt the govt-private thing. thats nice to know! nanti i tanye my sister lagi psl ni. she should know. :)

anne :
my sister tgh sambung her masters + working. so at times she'll be in HKL, at times at HUKM. i pon dah lost track + tak sure dia based dkt mana. she used to study in UM though. mungkin badge ur bro kot? ur bro specialized in what?

RuZaNNa said...

My brother pun tgh sambung Masters but at UM, he's specializing under A&E.. dulu die belajar kat UIA.. tak tau la kan if they have crossed paths hehehe

Thara said...

A&E? as in, Accident & Emergency eh? ooh UIA. kalau centu, rasanya tak la kot. hehe.

hi thara..saje menyibuk..

i think mana2 pon bagus...kat hosp kerajaan pon boleh dpt layanan mcm kat private, boleh register under private wing or some gov hosp call it fpp(full paying patient).so far mmg puas hati..layanan mcm vip..

Thara said...

neeza :

ye ke! i think ape yg u maksudkan ni, sama mcm what my friend (nadia) dkt atas ni ckp. govt hosp tapi bole mintak service mcm private. good to know about this. thanks for the info! :)

Nadine said...

yuhuuu..I'm finally here! :)

Anyway, nicely said Thara. I totally agree with you. I think its improper for that lady to make such a statement to that guy. lagi2 publicly. Everyone has their own reason of which hospital to choose. In the end, its us who paid the bills, not other people kan? :)

EinsamSoldat said...

It is rather a subjective matter. It could means a few things "Kerana setitik nila rosak susu sebelanga". 2nd it show of break down of trust in the ppl with gov ran hospitals. My heart goes to the family that unable to afford private health care which I agree is premium.

Thara said...

nadine :

yeah, betol. its not astho they're paying for the bills pon kan. kalau yang bercakap tu nak tolong bayarkan, laen lah cite. tp kalau setakat nak berckp je, baik tapayah.

chow :
u cannot be anymore correct. i second ur old malay saying, kerana nila setitik rosak susu sebelanga. :) well then, the damage has been done, and they definitely did not earn my trust & respect.

and again, im with u on that. my heart goes out to the family that are unable to afford private healthcare, especially when situation calls for it too.
