Nuffnang Christmas & New Year Dinner

Shortly after the night of glitz and glamour, all of the Nuffies from 7 different countries were treated to a fancy dinner at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

I was actually really looking forward to this dinner more than ever because instead of just seeing their names in the emails, that night would finally be the night where I could finally meet and know the people behind the emails in person! Barely 4 years ago, the Nuffies looked like this ...

Today, our family has grown to include over 100 people spread out over 7 countries ; Singapore, Phillipines, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Australia and of course, Malaysia!

Notice that most of us were clad in red & green outfits? Okay la maybe this picture doesn't really justify that, but our HR had actually specifically set a theme for us to wear on that night, and the theme was : Green, Red or anything Glittery! :D The moment I saw Green & Glittery, I immediately thought of one outfit that would be perfect for this occasion -- nothing fancy, just my baju kurung moden! :P

Wagyu Steak, Anyone?

How do married couples usually celebrate their 2 Years Anniversary? A short getaway at a hotel by the beach? Quality time with family at home? A treat at a fine dining restaurant?

As for me, I got all 3 of them! The moment we reached home that Sunday morning after our short vacation in Langkawi, we spent the whole day just chillin' at home with the little one, after 2 days of non-stop activities.

The next day, Aien took me to San Francisco Steakhouse that does not only have a very nice ambiance to it, but it is also near to our house! It seems like the perfect place to go for a once-in-a-while treat, so just after Maghrib, we swung by that place for dinner.


Once we were seated, we took our time going through the menu. Too many good food for our small tummies lah! But we settled with Cod Fillet, and Wagyu Steak.


While we wait for the main course to arrive, we were first served with bread and butter for starters. I loved the butter! However, although they were good, I do feel that they can't beat the bread and butter in Italiannies! :D


Once we were done with the starters, the waitress brought in our main course. Aien was served with Chilean Cod Fillet with Miso Paste.


I was served with my order, Wagyu Rib Eye Steak. I had mine medium-well done. Hey, how come fine dining dishes are always very little and simple looking?

A little on Wagyu Steak. It is said to be the most expensive steak in the world. The steak is made of the highest meat quality, that it even has certification from CAAB and MSA EQA.


Did you know however, these cattle only eat grain for 500 days, and they are so goddamn pampered, they live in an airconditioned room, not allowed to move around much, and believe it or not, they even get massaged!


Easier said, ini spesis lembu pemalas tahap gaban, rasa macam nak lempang je! :P But seriously. Lembu? Kena massage? Even I yang pi kerja kene naik turun bukit pon, bila balik takde sape nak massage okay! Balik rumah kena masak lagi ade lah! :P

Although the steak is famous for being exceptionally tender, juicy, and flavorsome, for some reason I dont know, I found it just like any other steak. It's juicy yes, it's very nice yes. But to me, it's just not worth the price. Aien's cod fish on the other hand, was so extremely good, and so much better, I would choose that cod over Wagyu steak anytime! On top of that, it is 3 times cheaper than my steak!

Oh, did I also tell you that they also have menu for kids? The menu for kids also look very appetizing that I plan to bring Aydein here the next time we dine here! :)


Whatever it is, it was needless to say, a beautiful evening and a night to remember, thanks to the man I fell in love with then, now and forever -- the none other, Ahmad Azarinurazie, the one and only. :) Happy Anniversary again, sweetheart!

My Colorful Weekend

My weekends are never dull. Mama and papa will always make sure that my weekends are filled with fun activities, even if it means spending some time splashing around in the mini pool we have at home.


Two weeks ago, we all went to Rebung to celebrate Tok Ayah's birthday.

Does that place ring a bell to you? Yes, it is our celebrity Chef Ismail's restaurant!


We were very lucky that Chef Ismail was around at that time. Because he made us a special Rendang Tok upon the special request from the "Birthday Boy"! Tok Ayah was also given a free Pulut Durian -- on the house!


The good food coupled with the nice ambiance completed the luncheon. They serve local food there -- from various types of lauks, through to various types of desserts.


Needless to say, Tok Ayah was one happy "Birthday Boy" on that day!


And then, recently mama and papa took me to my second boat ride. The first time was at Mines. This time around we went on a cruise at Putrajaya! Although it was an enjoyable ride, I still feel the one at Mines was way better because I could see beautiful fishes swimming around! This time around however, I saw many monumental architectures surrounding me.


Oh did I tell you that Tok Ayah, Tok Mak and my cousins also came along? This is Mummy Na. She's literally my "mummy" because she is my milk mom (ibu susuan). You see, when papa fell sick last year, mama had to stay with papa in the hospital to look after him. So Mummy Na offered to look after me and fed me with her milk when I got hungry at night.


Mummy Na and my parents are very close, you see. We go to many places and do a lot of things together. Last time, when papa was a bachelor, he used to stay with Mummy Na in Bukit Jelutong because Tok Ayah & Tok Mak were still in Johor then. Even when I first got to this world, Mummy Na helped us a lot and threw in a lot of helpful advices as to how to handle me as a baby. She's a mom of four but still look like a bachelorette!

Anyway, all the the basking under the hot sun was making me tired and thirsty.


That was when mama tried to make me drink plain water using a straw. I didn't manage to get the water up to my mouth at first, but after a few tries, I got the hang of it and started slurping the water from the straw for the very first time!


Thank God the boat ride was just for 45 mins. After that, we were off to Floria Festival!


I have three words to describe this event : Beautiful girls flowers everywhere! Everywhere you go, you see colorful bed of flowers everywhere.


Some are designed into shapes of numbers, cartoon characters, animals, princess dresses, and a whole load more.


I definitely had a good time feasting my eyes there, that by the end of the day, Tok Mak even called me "Mat Bunga"! Heehee!


The day was filled with so much excitement that as soon as we got into the car, I knocked out straight away. It was nevertheless, a beautiful day out with my big family. :)

For those of you who have yet to visit Floria Festival in Putrajaya, you may still do so by this weekend! The festival is open to public till 18th July 2010, so don't forget to bring your camera and snap loads and loads of pictures! :)

Aydein Turns One! (Part 1)

Last 31st May 2010, as the clock stroke sharp at 3.03pm on Monday afternoon, a sudden realization washed over me -- it has been a year since the very first day I held Aydein in my arms!


The very baby who only weighed 2.75kg has now tripled his weight and grew into someone very handsome, just like his papa! :)

That very night, The Little Family and my siblings went out to celebrate this joyous occasion. Aien and I thought hard as to where to celebrate at first, but settled with Paddington House of Pancakes eventually as we feel that it will be safe for Aydein to indulge himself with a nice plate of pancakes all to himself!


We went through the menu carefully and took a long time determining the best first real birthday meal for Aydein to indulge in, but they all looked delicious!

In the end, we chose Dollar Pancakes, the one that looks best of all. It has more fruits with a scoop of ice cream along with a few coin-sized pancakes. After all, how wrong can you go with pancakes, right? Which baby will be fussy about pancakes anyway?

Apparently, Aydein is one of them! Haha. I am not sure if it was due to his full tummy (because I forgot to inform bibik not to feed him porridge that night) or the taste of the pancakes, but he surely did not really enjoy his meal! In the end, the adults ended up finishing up his DELICIOUS meal for him! Seriously, it was so nice ok! I pon pelik kenape Aydein tak suka! Tsk tsk. Rugi lah birthday boy! :P

Needless to say, I enjoyed each and every bite of my meal. Aien's meal to me, was just an o-kay. But ours were nothing compared to my sister's meal. I tak ingat nama my sister's meal, but it's got a delicious, delicious hotdog on it! Sedap gilaaaa, rasa macam nak switch je! Speaking of which -- I forgot to snap the picture of it!

And since it was Aydein's first birthday, we went easy on him for the first time ever. No "NO AYDEIN!" ; just "GO ON AYDEIN!" all the way! :P We let him have his first taste at ice cream and anything he can get his hands on in his bowl full of pancakes & fruits! But since his tummy was (presumably) full, he had fun playing with the food instead and making a mess of the place happily! :P Just this one time, boy, just this one time, ok? :P

Although I would have liked it more if Aydein were to enjoy his meal, it was nonetheless still definitely a birthday to remember. :) As for Aydein, sorry baby, mama will make sure you enjoy your meal the next time we go out for a celebration okay? ;)

Lucky for me, I managed to make it up to Aydein on his birthday bash celebration held last week. He loved each and every bite of his birthday cake!
